It is a turtle neck posture with the center of the head forward from the center line of the shoulders.

The center of the shoulders and the center of the head are aligned, and the neck is not bent.

Why this difference in posture?

It's how you support your neck!

The cervical spine of the neck is C-shaped to cushion the impact on the head from the body. This is what the C-line of the cervical spine is commonly referred to.

The C-line of the cervical spine that can only be stretched when lying down

When you are standing, the C-line is straightened by gravity and pressure on your head and shoulders when you lie down.

If there is no support in the neck area, the cervical spine will be stretched, resulting in a narrowing of the gap between the floor and the neck, and the head will be tilted forward rather than the center line of the shoulders.
